CROSSVILLE FIRE & RESCUE

Est. 1974

In the early 1970's a few men had a dream. A dream that would change the lives of so many in their community. Their dream was the Crossville Fire Department, which was organized in 1974. Only one of the original members is still with the department today. The department started with the purchase of a 1955 army surplus truck with a tank and pump mounted on the back. Then they purchased another red military truck to use. In Febuary of 1988 the department purchased a 1969 American La France Custom Pumper. In the same year the department built a new station;(they had two smaller stations previously.) In 1992, the decision was made to add a volunteer rescue squad. A Chevrolet ambulance was purchased and the EMT's were added. Their second ambulance was a 1992 diesel ( which is now the service truck) and the current ambulance is a 1995 Turbo Power Stroke diesel box type ambulance. The current ambulance was purchased in September of 2003 and the current fire engine, a 2004 commerical pumper, was purchased in Febuary of 2004. Over 30 years worth of effort has been applied by the department to serve the community. We have a 5 mile radius of homes, businesses, and churches. A special thanks to those who started this department and to those who are continuing to carry it on, whether it be time, donations, or just your prayers. We now have paramedics, intermediates, basics, first responders, ambulance drivers, and firefighters. The men and women of Crossville Fire & Rescue are continuing to work very hard to make the department a winning team for the community. Please continue to show your support of this department and other fire and rescues like it.

Working hard 24/7 to save lives.
